Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Optical and Magnetic Materials Letters (OMML) undergo a rigorous and fair double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality, originality, and scientific integrity of the published articles.

Upon submission, each manuscript is initially evaluated by the Editor-in-Chief or an assigned Handling Editor to assess its relevance to the journal’s scope, compliance with ethical standards, and overall academic quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be rejected at this stage without being sent for external review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are then reviewed by at least two independent expert reviewers with relevant expertise in optical, photonic, or magnetic materials. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on several criteria, including:

  • Scientific merit and originality
  • Methodological rigor and validity
  • Clarity and organization of the manuscript
  • Significance and impact of the findings

Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept without revision
  • Accept with minor revisions
  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)
  • Reject

Authors are required to respond to all reviewer comments in a clear, detailed, and systematic manner. Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for further evaluation when necessary.

The editorial team ensures that the peer review process is conducted in a confidential, objective, and timely manner, with all parties adhering to the journal’s ethical policies and standards of scholarly publishing.
